Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola and his players have a difficult trip this weekend in the Premier League as they would be guests of Tottenham Hotspur who are second on the Premier League standings. Guardiola and Manchester City failed to hit the lofty standards set by them last season as they lost their league title to rivals Liverpool in the last campaign. The current season is going in that manner for the Citizens.

They trail Spurs by five points with one game at hand ahead of their meeting on Saturday evening. Pep Guardiola has been speaking about the North London team as he prepares to face them in the league. In his post-match press conference, he said Spurs are a very good team and that the team has achieved a lot since the Mauricio Pochettino era which ended in November 2019 to usher in the present dispensation under Jose Mourinho.

On the injury front, Pep Guardiola said that all his players are gradually returning to full fitness except Fernandinho and Nathan Ake. The two players are still recovering from injury. Star players Raheem Sterling and Sergio Aguero are in line to be a part of the squad to face Spurs. With fellow striker Gabriel Jesus ahead of Aguero with his fitness levels, the Brazilian international is expected to start the Spurs game according to the predicted XI from the Manchester Evening News (MEN).

Gabriel Jesus was joined in the Manchester City attack by the fit again Raheem Sterling and the in-form Ferran Torres who scored three goals for Spain in their 6-0 thrashing of Germany in their Nations League outing on Tuesday night. The Manchester City midfield is spearheaded by Kevin De Bruyne alongside the supporting cast of Phil Foden and Rodri. EdersonMoraes starts in goal with defenders Kyle Walker, Ruben Dias, Aymeric Laporte and Joao Cancelo ahead of him.
